Now it’s easy to experience the best in Canadian aviation literature simply by selecting and purchasing from our excellent selection of titles.

Canadian Aviator Publishing Ltd, publishers of Canadian Aviator magazine, has taken a major step toward preserving the rich history of Canadian aviation through the establishment of a mail-order bookstore. The Aviator’s Bookshelf is devoted entirely to publishing and selling books with Canadian aviation themes written by Canadian authors to ensure the thousands of important and historical stories that bring us to today remain alive.

A selection of the books we carry appears in every issue of Canadian Aviator magazine.

Our stand-alone website, aviatorsbookshelf.ca, is where customers can view all our selections and order through our secure e-commerce system provided by Shopify, another Canadian company. It’s simple, secure and convenient.

We also accept email and phone orders; full details are on the magazine pages and the website. We’ve set up a small distribution centre and the books will be sent by Canada Post within two business days of receiving your order.

Many authors are having a hard time finding publishers willing to invest in what is admittedly a niche literary market, so we are also publishing new titles ourselves. Our first, Bush Hawk (Undaunted Belief), is Rick Found’s critically acclaimed history of Found Aircraft, his family’s company. The Bush Hawk is considered one of the best bush planes ever built and the Expedition, which was certified about 13 years ago, is now built by Pacific Aerospace (a New Zealand company), which bought Found’s assets and intellectual property out of bankruptcy in 2016. We've recently published a revised edition updated by the author in 2020.

The second title we’ve published, Best Seat In The House, is the late Jim Griffith’s fascinating story of flying airliners in Canada, going back to when he piloted piston-engined North Stars for Trans-Canada Airlines.
